John Donne (1572-1631) was one of England's greatest and most innovative poets (Cummings).

Donne was a 17th century English poet. He at in Queen Elizabeths last Parliament, secretly married Anne More in 1601,and had seven surviving childern. Author of the famous lines "No man is an island" and "never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee" (Anniina). He wrote "A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning" in around 1611.
